ARTIST SPOT-LITE

WITH OUT FURTHER OR DO L.O.T.E IS PROUD TO PRESENT ANOTHER BROOKLYN RAP DUO, BURNING UP THE UNDERGROUND SCENE WITH FUTURE FLOWS & FASHIONABLE STYLE )))))))PAPER STACKS(((((((

What does Paper Stacks mean? When we say Paper Stacks we don't mean the typical thought of money or extreme wealth. When we say Paper Stacks, we mean the hard work and dedication we put into every verse, song, and album every time we sit down to write and create music. Paper Stacks simply means the piles of paper we use to extract and record our philosophy from our complex minds. We are men that stand for ideas, not money. We strive for knowledge and greatness, not wealth. So the next time you hear the name Paper Stacks, think of the art form, not the currency..... Paper Stacks is a very talented hip hop duo from Brooklyn NY that graced us with their debut in 2007. Spawning from their previous group Spin Siti, Travis "FITZ" Bramble and Kawan "Truth" Greggs took matters into their own hands. They started to participate in various talent shows and showcases, and received outstanding feedback from their listeners.
Audience members at a few events compared the duo's sound to a mixture of Jay- z's word play and confidence with Kanye's creativity and fashion sense. Now taking their potential with a lot more significance, Paper Stacks created their very first mix tape entitled "The Heart Of New York". The mix tape was far from a bomb and quickly sold out 100 copies in a couple weeks without the full advertisement that the duo had planned previous to the Cd's release. Extremely pleased by the feedback received from their mix tape and live performances, Paper Stacks quickly realized that they have what it takes to enter the industry and make an impact in the music business. They also began to take more pride in their craft and the artistic structure of music. Truth became the group's main producer, creating unique sounds and innovative beats that would set their music aside from the norm. With their look, wordplay, wit, and foot tapping head bobbing tracks, Paper Stacks now have all the tools to become memorable figures in the Entertainment Industry.

"PICK THE BRAIN" (pause)

L.O.T.E.-WHERE DO YOU THINK HIP HOP IS GOING IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS?

TRUTH- think hip hop will be straight trash in the next five years. To us, hip hop is lacking the passion it had initially, what we call the "Golden Years", when rap was rap, skills and unique styles were brought to all aspects of the art. Everybody rap to make money instead of making music to make people happy and interested. There is no real talent anymore in the mainstream industry. That's what its really all about and that's what Paper Stacks is going to bring back.

L.O.T.E.-HOW OFTEN DO YOU WRITE AND GO TO THE STUDIO?

FITZ- Wow, we hit the booth as much as we can man. From every other week to every other day. As far as writing is concerned, (laughter) we make sure to write everyday or at least go over what we already wrote, to stay on our A game.

L.O.T.E.- WHO IS HOT AND WHO IS NOT?

FITZ- Hummm, (laughter) We not even here to knock anybody on their grind or hustle, but P.S. personally....as music listeners and consumers, we can do without a Soulja boy or Young Berg... earning funds saying anything is the new thing in hip hop. Now real hip hop heads can't really go hard far as displaying real word play or articulate flows. If the industry or the fans love it, then we can't hate, just wish we had their airtime. As far as who's hot...we don't think there is no real hip hop entertainer that's catching our ears right now as far as mainstream. a lot of artist or labels are doing gimmicks to keep up or try to sell and entertain us, and that ain't hot.

L.O.T.E- WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER GROWING UP OR LISTEN TO?

Fitz- Growing up my favorite rapper had to be Nas.

Truth- I was a fan and great listener of Jay-Z, Eminem and Lil Wayne . Just the way they talked about things people were afraid to talk about or even new existed was amazing in its own sense.

Fitz-Great mind on them dudes. I like risky rappers.

L.O.T.E-WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON STATEMENT IN RAP?

P.S.- Oh my, it seem like everybody in Hip hop now days got "swagger" or "swag". That word totally lost all meaning to us.

L.O.T.E-THAT'S SO TRUE, WHY WOULD PEOPLE WANT TO GO OUT AND BUY OR LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC?

P.S.- People should buy our music because we rap for them, the people. There is no gimmicks, no robotic voices singing, just us having fun speaking our minds and being real. I like to think that life is a movie....we just offer the soundtrack.

L.O.T.E-WHAT WAS THE LAST CD YOU PURCHASE?

Fitz- Ne-yo: Year of The Gentlemen. I like to zone out sometimes to RnB or another genre of music. but that dude is a genius, excellent writer.

L.O.T.E-WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RAP?

P.S.- Many things inspired us as a whole to rap.

Fitz-Me personally, I was inspired by my older sister. I use too see her rap and battle her homeboys when I was growing up, and I use to look at her like "Wow, I want to do that!!". She helped me out a lot as far as aggression and confidence in your flow and wordplay.

Truth- I like to think that Paper Stacks is inspired by everyone and everything in their environment. We see the struggles of the world and so we write ways to take our listeners mind off of that job they hate or that class they failing.

L.O.T.E-FEELING THAT, IF YOU HAD ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU STILL DO MUSIC?

P.S.- HELL YEA!, money doesn't bring you happiness or a sense of self pride like doing something you love does. We damn sure love music. When someone feels some type of emotion when listening to our music its like watching a baby being born or graduation day for us....you can't put a price on that. This is our life.

L.O.T.E.- WOW THAT'S REAL TALK!, HOPE A LOT OF THESE ARTIST READING THIS. PAPER STACKS ITS BEEN GREAT CHOPPING IT UP WITH YOU, HOPE EVERYTHING GOES THE WAY IT SHOULD BEST OF LUCK HAVE THE KEY TO LIFE AND HOW TO GO ABOUT MUSIC.
